A native of North Greenbush, she holds a B.A. in Social Science from Purchase College and an M.S. in Visual Arts Education from the College of Saint Rose. As a New York State Certified Visual Arts Instructor, Shannon brings a wealth of experience to the classroom, having taught students from kindergarten through Advanced Placement 2-D Design, as well as Hudson Valley Community College’s Introduction to Photography through the College in the High School program. As a seasoned photographer, Shannon’s career spans decades. She has served as a staff photographer for The Berkshire Eagle and The Register Star, and spent many years as the upstate photographer for The New York Post. Today, she continues to freelance for a variety of clients, including publications, marketing agencies, and individuals. Her expertise in visual storytelling also led her to work as a photography hiking guide at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts.

When she’s not teaching or behind the lens, Shannon enjoys exploring the outdoors with her loyal companion, her dog Jack.
